Free Arts & Crafts
A selection of free arts, crafts and games to choose from, and to make friends and to have fun on Tuesday mornings with The “Chooseday Club” or on Wednesday mornings with the Drop In Arts.
Coffee & Kids
Run an ex-deputy head of a nursery school this Toddler Group meets every Thursday morning for constructive play and experiences. Places should be booked in advance, because it is usually over-subscribed.
Family Time
Every fortnight on Tuesdays 5.00 pm– 6.30 pm we hold Family Time for parents and children with a cooked meal. Games are played, with parents sometimes joining in.
Lighthouse
The Strand Church runs a Christmas Day lunch for people on their own. Because they are often on their own from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day we are an open for all ages who want to come for suitable activities with lunch for all.
Afternoon Club (on Tuesdays from 3.00)
An After School time for nominated families for fun and evening meal at no charge, assisting families who face particular difficulties. This group is currently suspended.
Dementia Group
A monthly group for dementia sufferers and their carers is held with many trips down memory lane and a traditional afternoon tea. Support is also given to carers as they adjust their thinking to cope with dementia.
Knit & Natter
As the name suggests, this is both productive (knitting ) and socially supportive (natter). It meets on Monday morning.
